My Story:
Why I Created Rhythm and Swag
I created Rhythm
and Swag as a tribute to the two lifelong passions that shaped me — fashion
and music.
My journey
in the fashion industry began in 1983, working with style, textiles, and
trends long before “streetwear” was a category. But my connection to music goes
back even further — to the early 1970s, when the sounds of jazz, soul,
gospel, and funk weren’t just in the air, they were part of everyday life.
Music was how we spoke, how we dressed, how we moved through the world.
Over the
years, I’ve worked behind the scenes and on the frontlines of both industries —
from stages to studios, from garment racks to design boards. I’ve seen how
fashion and music both tell stories. They reflect who we are, where we come
from, and what we believe in.
Rhythm
and Swag was born
from the idea that these two forces should live together — not just on
playlists or runways, but in the everyday pieces we wear and the art we keep
around us. This brand is for people who don’t just love music — they live it.
